Jill S. Schwartz

The managing partner at Jill S. Schwartz & Associates, P.A., Jill S. Schwartz focuses her practice on labor and employment law issues. Based in Winter Park, Florida, she provides representation to both companies and employees throughout the greater Orlando metropolitan region and other parts of the state. Admitted to practice in both Florida and Maryland, Ms. Schwartz is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 7th and 11th Circuits, and the Supreme Court of the United States. She was the first female Florida attorney to be inducted as a fellow in The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers Inc.

Her experience representing both employers and employees gives Ms. Schwartz a broad perspective in her practice. The types of cases that she has handled have included hiring and workplace discrimination, wage and hour claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act, Family and Medical Leave Act disputes, and wrongful terminations, and other acts of retaliation against whistleblowers. Ms. Schwartz has also drafted and reviewed employment contracts and noncompete agreements, and she has helped companies in the preparation of employment manuals. In addition to advocating for her clients in the courtroom, she is a certified mediator, and that background often helps her to assist them in seeking to reach an agreement on some of these matters through the alternative dispute resolution method.

A 1982 graduate of what was then known as the University of Maryland School of Law, Ms. Schwartz has received a great deal of recognition from her colleagues for her successful track record, including an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and a 10.0 "Superb" peer review rating through Avvo. In addition, she has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America.
