Alan H. Meincke is the founder and managing member of Meincke Houston Family Law, LLC, a practice dedicated to handling a wide array of complex domestic relations matters. These include divorce, child custody modifications, prenuptial agreement drafting and enforcement, domestic appeals, child support modifications, legitimation, adoption (both contested and uncontested), postdivorce contempt, third-party custody and grandparent visitation rights.
With a profound pool of knowledge in family law, Mr. Meincke provides comprehensive legal guidance to his clients, ensuring their needs and objectives are met with high professional standards. An alumnus of the University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia, he graduated magna cum laude with a B.B.A. in risk management and insurance from the Terry College of Business in 2007, followed by a J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2011.
Mr. Meincke’s legal journey prior to establishing his firm includes significant roles such as a partner in a large multiregional firm with over 200 attorneys and a partner at an Atlanta-based litigation firm. His extensive experience spans family law, probate litigation and liability defense, equipping him to offer strategic and pragmatic solutions to complex legal issues. His track record includes numerous successful litigations, resolutions through bench and jury trials, and arguments presented before the Georgia Court of Appeals.
Licensed to practice across all Georgia state courts, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, Mr. Meincke is an active participant in the legal community. He serves on the Membership Committee of the Hon. Marion T. Pope, Jr. American Inn of Court and maintains affiliates in the Atlanta Bar Association and the Forsyth County Bar Association, where he has previously held the position of president.
