Madison Alexander

Madison Alexander is an associate attorney with Hastings Shadmehry Family Law in Alpharetta, Georgia.  Ms. Alexander brings dedication and focus to the practice of family law.  Even while earning her Juris Doctorate from Mercer University School of Law in 2022, family law was her primary legal focus, and she has maintained an unwavering commitment to helping families navigate life’s most sensitive transitions.

Ms. Alexander's practice spans the full spectrum of domestic relations, including divorce, child custody and support, paternity and legitimation proceedings, alimony, adoption, and domestic partnerships.  She also advises clients on pre- and post-nuptial agreements, post-judgment modifications, and is particularly adept at equitable caregiver claims, safeguarding parental rights for same-sex and unmarried couples, as well as grandparents.

Driven by a passion for protecting families and children, Ms. Alexander combines rigorous legal competence with genuine compassion, ensuring each client receives personalized guidance and zealous advocacy at every stage of their case.  Her single-minded dedication to her cases and her clients is matched by her unfailing good humor.

A native Georgian born in the mountains of North Georgia and raised in South Georgia’s coastal plain, Ms. Alexander attended the University of Georgia, where she graduated with dual degrees in Sociology and Women’s Studies. She further distinguished herself as an Oxford University Human Rights Scholar, deepening her understanding of international justice and advocacy for underserved populations.

Ms. Alexander honed her courtroom skills as a law clerk to the Honorable Philip T. Raymond III of the Bibb County Superior Court. Her professional affiliations include the Stonewall Bar Association of Georgia, the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers, the Association of Women Law Students, the Mercer Trial Lawyers Association, the Marion T. Pope, Jr American Inn of Court, the William A. Bootle American Inn of Court, the Middle Georgia Access to Justice Council, the Oxford Consortium for Human Rights, and the Equal Access to Justice Scholars program.
