     Before founding her own firm, Whatley practiced as a tax litigator and also as a Chapter 13 courtroom attorney. She graduated from the Georgia State University College of Law. During her third year of law school, she interned with U.S. Bankruptcy Judge the Honorable Margaret A. Murphy. In addition to Georgia, Whatley is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court Northern District of Georgia and U.S. Tax Court.

    Whatley was the former president of the Metro Atlanta Consumer Bankruptcy Attorney Group and the 2019 recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. She is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association’s Tax and Bankruptcy sections as well as the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers.
