As a partner with Stack & Associates, P.C., Donald D.J. Stack works with clients in Atlanta, Georgia, the metro area and surrounding counties. His areas of law include the following: toxic torts, zoning litigation, river pollution, coastal protection, environmental compliance, eminent domain, clean water and storm water as well as challenges to government agencies. Mr. Stack accepts a wide array of cases such as exposure to radiation, exposure to contaminated ground water, improper disposal of toxic waste, lack of adequate erosion control systems, property owners who neglect to clean up trash, bad odors from factory farms and zoning changes.

In 1975 Mr. Stack received a Bachelor of Science in biology from The State University of New York, Geneseo. After working as a lab technician and then as  a National Park Ranger including as a naturalist and a law enforcement ranger, he attended The University of Georgia School of Law, graduating cum laude with his Juris Doctor in 1986. During law school he worked on the Chattahoochee River as a law enforcement and boat patrol ranger.

For more than 30 years Mr. Stack has worked entirely in environmental law. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and is admitted to the following courts: the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia, the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Stack is heavily involved in the legal community. He teaches classes and seminars, is the author of publications on the environment and provides pro bono services to several environmental organizations. He was named the environmental professional for 2003 and is the recipient of the Ogden Doremus Award. Mr. Stack is a member of the 2015 class of the Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership.
