Edward D. Buckley

Edward D. Buckley is a co-founder of and the managing partner at Buckley Bala Wilson Mew LLP. Located in Atlanta, Georgia, he focuses his practice on labor and employment law, representing clients throughout the greater metropolitan area and other parts of the state. Admitted to practice in Georgia since 1983, Mr. Buckley is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.

Mr. Buckley represents current, former and prospective employees in a variety of matters. A significant portion of his caseload involves discrimination that is prohibited by several federal and state statutes, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Mr. Buckley has also assisted clients who have been the victims of sexual harassment, and his experience has additionally encompassed wage and hour violations under the Fair Labor Standards Act, wrongful termination and other acts of unlawful retaliation, and Family and Medical Leave Act denials. Outside of the courtroom, he has prepared and reviewed employment, severance and compensation agreements. Mr. Buckley’s clients have ranged from blue-collar workers to highly paid professionals and executives, and he has obtained millions of dollars in jury awards and negotiated settlements on their behalf.

Mr. Buckley has earned a great deal of respect from his fellow attorneys for his successful track record and high degree of professional ethics. His honors have included an AV Preeminent* peer-review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and being included in Georgia Trend Magazine’s annual “Legal Elite” list. Mr. Buckley is a 1983 graduate of Emory University School of Law, and he is the founder of a non-profit organization that provides access to clean drinking water for residents of Haiti.
