Verdicts/Settlements:

  • Shahla Atai v Allstated Indemnity Company - jury trial verdict for $618,000 in November, 2015 in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. This was a vandalism claim where almost every item in the home was destroyed. Allstate denied the claim, asserting the homeowner was involved in the vandalism. The jury disagree and awarded 100% of the structural damages and about 40% of the full value of the contents, which represented their calculation of the actual cash value of the items., 2015
  • Fiveash v Allstate Insurance Company - jury verdict for $440,000 in April, 2015 after a trial in the United States District Court, Northern District of Georgia, Newnan Division. This was a fire claim where the home was substantially damaged. Allstate denied the claim, asserting that the homeowners were involved in setting fire to their own home. The jury disagreed with Allstate and awarded 100% of the damages claimed., 2015
