    Attorney Profile

Attorney Howard J. Weintraub is the founder of The Law Offices of Howard J. Weintraub, P.C., in Atlanta. Mr. Weintraub founded his firm in 1985 with the goal of providing high-quality criminal defense services to residents of the Atlanta metropolitan area and surrounding north Georgia. The firm is open 24/7, including holidays. Today, 30 years later, he continues to strive toward that goal by representing clients who face charges for a variety of criminal offenses, including:

    Drug crimes
    Driving under the influence (DUI)
    White collar crimes
    Federal crimes

Mr. Weintraub began his legal career in 1975 after earning his Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law and his admission to the State Bar of Georgia. Before founding his private practice, attorney Weintraub spent 10 years as a prosecutor for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. His experience as a federal prosecutor gives him insights into techniques used by prosecutors that benefit his firm's clients today.

In addition to having 40 years of legal experience on both sides of the courtroom, Mr. Weintraub has received numerous honors, including commendations from the FBI, the U.S. Secret Service and the Federal Aviation Administration. He is rated as AV Preeminent* by Martindale-Hubbell and holds a "Superb" Avvo rating. Attorney At Law Magazine's Atlanta edition also named him Attorney of the Month in 2014.

Mr. Weintraub's dedication to his career continues outside of the courtroom. He is an active member of several legal associations, including the American Bar Association, the D.C. Bar and the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, where he served as a member of the board of directors for eight years. In addition, he served as chair of the Criminal Law Section of the Atlanta Bar Association.

*AV Preeminent and BV Distinguished are certification marks of Reed Elsevier Properties Inc., used in accordance with the Martindale-Hubbell certification procedures, standards and policies. Martindale-Hubbell is the facilitator of a peer review rating process. Ratings reflect the confidential opinions of members of the bar and the judiciary. Martindale-Hubbell ratings fall into two categories: legal ability and general ethical standards.
