J. Tyler Schermerhorn

J. Tyler Schermerhorn is the founder of his own law firm that is based in Atlanta, Georgia. Focusing his practice exclusively on plaintiff's personal injury and wrongful death litigation, he provides representation to people throughout the greater metropolitan area who have incurred economic and noneconomic losses as a result of the negligence or recklessness of other persons or entities. The types of cases that Mr. Schermerhorn has pursued on behalf of his clients have arisen out of accidents involving cars, trucks and other types of motor vehicles, and premises liability, including inadequate security and slips and falls.

Mr. Schermerhorn has been able to obtain favorable results for his clients, both in the courtroom and through settlements negotiated with defendants and their insurance companies. Some of his representative results have included a $2 million settlement for a client who was rear-ended by a big rig and a $5 million settlement in a premises liability case for a hotel guest who was shot by an unknown attacker. Mr. Schermerhorn is admitted to practice before all Georgia state courts.

An accomplished athlete, Mr. Schermerhorn played football at Colorado State University during his first two years as an undergraduate while studying journalism there. He then transferred to the University of Colorado Boulder, and he continued his studies in that discipline before receiving a Bachelor of Arts in 2002. After graduation, Mr. Schermerhorn went on to enroll at Samford University, and in 2008 he obtained both his Juris Doctor from the Cumberland School of Law and a Master of Business Administration from the Brock School of Business. He formed The Schermerhorn Firm in June 2018 after working for a defense firm for several years.
