Jill Massey

A partner in the Atlanta office of Brown Carrington, PLLC, Jill Massey brings more than a decade of experience and a deep commitment to family law. A trial attorney at heart, she discovered early in her career that her passion for advocacy found its truest expression in guiding families through some of life’s most pivotal – and often most difficult – family law matters.

Through her work at Brown Carrington, PLLC, Ms. Massey has built a reputation for tenacity and thoroughness in all aspects of family law, including divorce, child custody, child support and modifications. Her clients continually commend her ability to demystify intricate financial models, offer realistic assessments of risk and reward and craft negotiation strategies that protect their interests both inside and outside the courtroom. Maintaining a “Very Good” rating on Avvo, she believes such recognition reflects not only her technical expertise but also her unwavering dedication to each client’s personal journey. 

While litigation skills remain at her core, Ms. Massey is equally devoted to the human side of legal representation, understanding that empathy, respect and clear communication are as essential to a successful outcome as legal strategy itself. Born and raised in Kentucky, she proudly carries her “Kentucky blue” with her to Georgia, where she has practiced since 2014. 

Ms. Massey graduated magna cum laude from the University of Kentucky, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with dual majors in finance and business management. That financial acumen – rare in family law – gives her clients confidence when complex property division, support calculations and tax consequences loom large in divorce and custody disputes. After completing her Juris Doctor at the University of Louisville, she was admitted to the Kentucky Bar Association in 2012 and subsequently to the State Bar of Georgia in 2014. 

An active leader in the legal community, Ms. Massey serves on the Atlanta Bar Association’s Family Law Section, contributes to the Georgia Child Support Commission’s Economics Study Committee and volunteers with Georgia Guardians Ad Litem, Inc. In all of these roles, she advocates for procedural fairness, transparent access to justice and the highest ethical standards. Yet, no matter how demanding her schedule, she never loses sight of what originally drew her to this profession: the privilege of being entrusted with someone’s most vulnerable moments and the responsibility to guide them toward a more secure, hopeful future.
