Julie Morrison Poirier

The founder of her own firm based in Atlanta, Georgia, Julie Morrison Poirier focuses her practice exclusively on workers' compensation matters. Representing clients throughout the region who have been injured while on the job or who have contracted occupational diseases through toxic exposure or in other ways, she assists them to obtain the benefits to which they are entitled under their employer's insurance coverage. The types of injuries that her clients have faced have included loss of hearing or vision, paralysis, amputations, traumatic brain injuries, carpal tunnel, chemical burns, fibromyalgia and heart attacks and surgical cases. In addition to assisting clients with the preparation and timely submission of their claims, Ms. Poirier appears at appeals hearings when claims have been disputed or denied by employers or their insurers.

Ms. Poirier is actively involved in a number of professional organizations related to her practice area. She is a member of the board of the Workers' Compensation Section of the Atlanta Bar Association, and she is a member of the Workers' Compensation Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia. Her other memberships include the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. Active in her community as well, she has been a member of Friends, the volunteer organization of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Ms. Poirier received her undergraduate education at the University of Georgia, where she majored in microbiology and obtained a Bachelor of Science in 1996. She then went on to attend the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law and was awarded her Juris Doctor in 1999.
