Verdicts / Settlements (Case Results)

  •   We are proud to share that 2026 is already off to a powerful start at Poirier Law Firm, with two significant victories before the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation on behalf of our injured clients. In one case, we secured a full win for a seriously injured worker who suffered a partial amputation, despite the Employer’s complete denial of the claim. After presenting the evidence and advocating aggressively, the Board found in our client’s favor, ensuring access to the medical care and income benefits he rightfully deserved. In another recent victory in the Byrd case, we successfully obtained late payment penalties against the Employer/Insurer for failing to timely provide benefits. Holding carriers accountable for noncompliance is critical—not only for our client, but for protecting the integrity of the workers’ compensation system as a whole. These early wins reflect our continued commitment to standing up for injured workers across Georgia and ensuring they receive the benefits and protections the law provides., 2026

Representative Clients

  • At Poirier Law Firm, we represent injured workers across Georgia in complex and high-stakes workers’ compensation matters, including catastrophic injuries, denied claims, and disputes over medical care and income benefits. Our clients include individuals from a wide range of industries—construction workers, healthcare providers, first responders, and other essential employees—who have suffered life-altering injuries on the job. We routinely advocate for clients facing serious and catastrophic injuries, including traumatic amputations, orthopedic injuries requiring surgery, and long-term disability. In many cases, our clients come to us after their claims have been denied or benefits have been delayed, requiring aggressive litigation before the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation. Our firm has successfully: Secured compensability for injured workers despite complete denial of claims by employers and insurers; Obtained critical medical treatment, including surgeries, after improper refusal or delay by carriers; Recovered income benefits and assessed penalties for late or nonpayment under Georgia law; and Navigated complex disputes involving authorized treating physicians, panel issues, and change-of-physician requests. We are particularly experienced in holding employers and insurers accountable when they fail to comply with their obligations under the Workers’ Compensation Act, ensuring our clients receive the care, support, and financial stability they need to move forward. Our approach is both strategic and client-centered: we guide individuals and families through the legal process with clarity and compassion while advocating forcefully to protect their rights at every stage of the claim., 2026

Firm News (Newsletters)

  • 2026 is off to a strong start at Poirier Law Firm, with several significant victories before the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation on behalf of seriously injured clients. In a recent case involving a catastrophic injury, I secured a full award for a client who suffered a partial amputation, despite the Employer’s complete denial of the claim. After presenting the evidence and advocating at hearing, the Board found the injury compensable, ensuring my client received the medical care and income benefits he was previously denied. In another important decision, I successfully obtained late payment penalties in the Byrd case after the Employer/Insurer failed to timely provide income benefits. Holding insurers accountable for delays and noncompliance remains a critical part of protecting injured workers and enforcing the integrity of the system. Beyond litigation, I continue  to advocate for  the injured workers across Georgia by monitoring legislative developments that impact their rights. Earlier this year, proposed legislation that would have made it easier for employers to cut off benefits during the return-to-work process was ultimately withdrawn—an encouraging outcome for injured workers statewide. At Poirier Law Firm, I remain committed to guiding  our clients through the workers’ compensation system with both strategic advocacy and personal support, ensuring they receive the benefits and care they deserve., owner
