Verdicts / Settlements (Case Results)
- Tracy Sempowich, a former employee of Tactile Systems Technology, made claims against her former employer of discrimination and retaliation, as well as claims under the Equal Pay Act. She was represented by Kathryn Abernethy of The Noble Law. The Fourth Circuit found that the District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina had erred in dismissing Sempowich’s claims of discrimination and retaliation, and also applied an incorrect legal standard to Sempowich’s claims under the Equal Pay Act. The matter was remanded for further proceedings consistent with that opinion., 2021

- Obtained a favorable settlement for a State employee whistleblower who reported to the State Auditor regarding misuse and mismanagement of State and federal funds allocated to upgrade the State's Medicaid IT systems. The case was titled Morehead v. North Carolina Department of Information Technology et al., and was filed in Wake County Superior Court., 2023
- Obtained summary judgment and final judgment in favor of Plaintiff for more than $700,000 (including attorneys' fees, liquidated damages and pre-judgment interest) in a Wage & Hour Act case brought by a former CEO of a small company who was improperly denied severance.
