Kevin A. Maxim founded of The Maxim Law Firm, P.C. to represent clients in the Atlanta area and throughout Georgia in a wide range of legal issues, including business litigation, internet law, real estate law and insurance law, as well as insurance, product liability claims, and personal injury disputes. Before establishing his own firm, he practiced law with two national and international law firms in Atlanta. He brings more than 27 years of experience to each case.
Mr. Maxim is a 1994 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Cincinnati, graduating summa cum laude with a degree in chemical engineering. Today, he is admitted to practice in the state courts of Georgia and Alabama, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Georgia, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
His skills, knowledge, and experience have earned Mr. Maxim recognition from his peers and the community. Among other honors. In 2021 and 2022, Mr. Maxim was named to The Best Lawyers in America© in the area of Commercial Litigation. He also has been named to SuperLawyers for 12 years, to the Top 100 Georgia Super Lawyers List for ten years, and has earned the AV Preeminent rating* from the attorney peer-review service Martindale-Hubbell, its highest rating. In addition to his law practice, Mr. Maxim has served in numerous roles for professional and community organizations throughout the years. He is proud to have served as the General Counsel of the Federal Bar Association, and has served two terms on the FBA's Board of Directors (and reached the term limit). He is also an Honorary Trustee on the Board of Atlanta's Fernbank Museum of Natural History, after many years serving as a Trustee of the Museum. As a member of the Atlanta chapter of the Federal Bar Association, Mr. Maxim has previously served as president, vice-president and treasurer, and presently serves on its Advisory Committee. He is also a fellow with the Foundation of the Federal Bar Association, and has served in numerous capacities in his children's schools. Mr. Maxim served as the Chair of the Planning Committee for the Federal Bar Association's 2017 Annual Meeting & Convention.
