Marilyn L. Bardie-Kapaun

Marilyn L. Bardie-Kapaun is a partner at Bovis, Kyle, Burch & Medlin, LLC, based in Atlanta, Georgia. She focuses her practice on family law, representing clients navigating complex and often highly personal legal matters. With a career spanning more than three decades, she brings extensive legal knowledge and a thoughtful approach to helping clients address the challenges associated with family-related disputes.

Ms. Bardie-Kapaun earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois in 1988. She went on to pursue her legal studies at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law, where she developed her legal skills and obtained her Juris Doctor in 1991. She was admitted to practice law in Georgia in 1992.

In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Bardie-Kapaun has contributed to legal and academic communities. She is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia Family Law Section. Her professional and educational involvement includes teaching, and in 2014, she was recognized by Georgia State University’s Criminal Justice Department as its “Outstanding Instructor of the Year.”

Ms. Bardie-Kapaun has also received professional recognition for her work in family law. In 2024, Forbes selected her as one of its “Top 10 Divorce Attorneys in Atlanta.” She is multilingual, with proficiency in Spanish and French, and conversational Italian, allowing her to communicate with clients from diverse linguistic backgrounds.
