    Focusing exclusively on complex and high asset matrimonial matters, Melody draws on her nearly 35-years of diverse litigation experience to bring practical and case-specific solutions to all of her clients. Melody's extensive experience and competency in family law helped her to become a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Although she has substantial litigation experience and success, Melody is also an active leader in the field of collaborative law. Melody attended the Harvard Law School Program on Negotiation to enhance her mediation skills, and has helped numerous parties successfully resolve their domestic relations cases through Late Case Evaluation.  

    Melody served as a board member of the Family Law Section of the Atlanta Bar Association from 2002-2009, when she served as the Chair of that Section. She is an acknowledged leader in her field and regularly speaks at seminars.   She is the current President of the Charles Longstreet Weltner Family Law Inn of Court.

    Melody’s philosophy of giving back to the community is demonstrated by her awards and achievements in the area of service. She was the recipient of the Atlanta Bar Association’s Professionalism Award, as well as its Community Service Award for spearheading a playground build at Perkerson Elementary School in Southwest Atlanta, the Atlanta Bar Association’s Achievement Award for her work as the Co-Chair the Law Day Committee, where she currently serves as chair, the Atlanta Bar Association's Distinguished Service Award for her work with student outreach for the Equal Justice in Law Enforcement Initiative, and the Atlanta Bar Association’s Family First Award for her extraordinary service and contributions to the families of Atlanta.  Melody was also a member of the award-winning 2012 and 2013 Atlanta Dream Team Law Day Symposiums and chaired the Atlanta Dream Team Law Day Symposium for Law Day 2015. Melody also had a community service award named after her in 2016, and was the first recipient of that award from the Fulton County Superior Court Administration.
