Rebecca Kirkland Halberg is the founder of Halberg Law Firm, where she represents injured workers in workers’ compensation claims throughout Georgia. A former workers’ compensation defense attorney, Mrs. Halberg brings nearly 20 years of experience representing parties on both sides of workplace-injury claims.
Mrs. Halberg began her career representing employers and insurance companies in South Carolina. That experience gives her valuable insight into how insurers evaluate, defend and resolve workers’ compensation claims. She now uses that perspective exclusively on behalf of injured workers, helping clients obtain necessary medical treatment, income benefits and compensation for permanent disability. Her practice includes denied claims, delayed medical treatment, catastrophic accidents, complex settlement negotiations, and litigation before the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation.
Mrs. Halberg earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2001 and her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2006. She is admitted to practice in both Georgia and South Carolina, and she is a member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association’s Workers’ Compensation Section (WCCL), for which she currently serves as Treasurer.
Mrs. Halberg also serves as Vice President of Kids’ Chance of Georgia, a nonprofit organization that provides educational scholarships to children of workers who have been seriously injured or killed on the job. Before relocating to Georgia, she served as President of Kids’ Chance of South Carolina.
Mrs. Halberg has been selected to the Georgia Super Lawyers list and recognized among the Top 50 Women: Georgia Super Lawyers. She also holds an Avvo “Superb” rating. Her professional recognition reflects her depth of workers’ compensation experience and her commitment to providing knowledgeable, direct and compassionate representation to injured workers and their families.
