Attorney Profile

Attorney Ronald L. Hilley is a senior partner with Hilley & Frieder, P.C., in Atlanta, Georgia. A highly rated trial advocate with more than 30 years of legal experience, Mr. Hilley focuses his practice on serious personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death and workers' compensation claims. He is also one of only a few attorneys in the state who routinely represents physicians and other professionals seeking their rightful long term disability benefits.

Known for his compassion, Mr. Hilley finds great reward in helping innocent accident victims and their families recover the full amount of compensation they deserve for the injuries and losses they sustained as the result of someone else's negligence or wrongdoing, and he has secured millions of dollars in settlements and awards on behalf of his plaintiff clients.

Mr. Hilley's desire to help those in need stems from the influence of his father, who served as a professor of law at Emory University. Following in his father's footsteps, Mr. Hilley has dedicated his profession to helping those suffering needlessly to rebuild their lives in the wake of a preventable tragedy.

A 1972 graduate of Emory University, Mr. Hilley obtained his Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law in 1976. The State Bar of Georgia admitted him to practice that same year, and he has served as lead counsel in a number of cases before the Supreme Court of Georgia and the Court of Appeals of Georgia. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Recognized for his impeccable professionalism, exceptional legal abilities and unwavering commitment to his clients, Mr. Hilley holds a Martindale-Hubbell Distinguished* rating, and he earned the Martindale-Hubbell Silver Client Champion award in 2018.
