Shaun C. Southworth

Shaun C. Southworth is the CEO and founder of Southworth PC in Atlanta, Georgia, where he represents federal employees and other clients in employment-related disputes and litigation. His practice focuses on federal employment law, federal sector litigation and federal careers defense, with extensive experience addressing complex workplace and personnel matters.

Mr. Southworth handles a broad range of federal employment cases involving equal employment opportunity, reasonable accommodation, discrimination, harassment, retaliation and whistleblowing. His practice also includes federal workers’ compensation and disability retirement matters. With more than 20,000 hours of legal experience, he represents clients in disputes involving employers of all sizes, including major federal agencies such as the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

When litigation is necessary, Mr. Southworth draws on his extensive federal employment experience to advocate for his clients’ interests in administrative proceedings and federal courts. His practice is centered on representing individuals facing significant professional and financial consequences arising from workplace disputes, employment actions and federal personnel decisions.

Mr. Southworth earned his Bachelor of Arts from Grinnell College in Iowa in 2004, graduating with honors. He earned his Juris Doctor from Duke University School of Law in 2009, where he received the Faculty Labor and Employment Award and was recognized as a Neill James Blue Scholar.

A distinguished professional, Mr. Southworth is admitted to practice in Missouri and Georgia, as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th and 9th Circuits. His federal admissions also include the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

Mr. Southworth is a member of the American Association for Justice, the National Employment Lawyers Association, the State Bar of Georgia and the Stonewall Bar Association. He is also affiliated with the Georgia chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.
