He has also become a recognized authority in assisting with the legal issues surrounding planned and resort community developments, such as golf course communities, mixed-use developments, residential and condominium developments, timeshares and other vacation property, office complexes, townhomes, and more.

Drawing upon his in-depth knowledge of the law, Mr. Winter has published books and articles dealing with these topics and others, and he has conducted numerous lectures and seminars regarding the same. He has also established himself as a leader in his legal community, and he has served on several committees, boards and panels of various professional real estate and legal organizations, including currently serving as co-chair of the 2019 Community Association Institute's Georgia Legislative Action Committee.

Among his other professional affiliations, Mr. Winter is a member of The Florida Bar, the State Bar of Georgia, the Urban Land Institute and the Community Association Institute (CAI). Honored for his professionalism and service, he is a recent inductee into the CAI’s Georgia Chapter Hall of Fame, and he received the CAI National Award of Excellence in Chapter Leadership in 2001-2002 as well as the Rita Kennedy Award in 2001.

After receiving his Bachelor of Business Administration from Emory University in 1985, Mr. Winter returned to his alma mater and obtained his Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law in 1988. Along with practicing before all Georgia and Florida state courts, he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.
