Steven D. Barnhart

Steven D. Barnhart is the founder of Steven D. Barnhart, P.C., based in Atlanta, Georgia, where he focuses his practice on personal injury litigation, general litigation, business disputes, employment and labor matters involving employees, and medical malpractice claims on behalf of plaintiffs. With decades of legal experience, he represents individuals and businesses in complicated legal matters, advocating for clients through every stage of litigation while working to secure favorable resolutions both in and out of the courtroom.

Known for his comprehensive approach to case preparation and dispute resolution, Mr. Barnhart combines strategic legal analysis with practical problem-solving to address a wide range of civil litigation matters. In addition to his trial practice, he is a certified and registered mediator and arbitrator, helping parties resolve disputes through alternative dispute resolution when appropriate.

Mr. Barnhart earned a bachelor’s degree from Hampden-Sydney College before obtaining a Master of Business Administration from the University of Richmond. He later received his Juris Doctor from the University of Richmond School of Law, providing him with a strong foundation in both business and legal principles.

Admitted to practice in Georgia since 1984, Mr. Barnhart is also admitted before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Georgia; the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. Recognized for his professional accomplishments and ethical standards, he has earned an AV Preeminent* peer-review rating through Martindale-Hubbell.

An active member of the legal community, Mr. Barnhart maintains involvement in numerous professional organizations, including the Atlanta Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia, the American Association for Justice, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and the Lawyers Club of Atlanta.
