Committed to finding resolutions to the issues faced by families and those accused of criminal offenses, she founded Tessie D. Edwards & Associates, P.C., in 2008.

Graduating from the Indiana University – Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2005, Ms. Edwards worked for more than a year as an assistant solicitor general in the Clayton County Solicitor-General’s Office. Ms. Edwards is an aggressive litigator who fights for the protection of her clients’ rights until the very end. Verdicts/Settlements (Case Results):
  • Client was charged with Aggravated Assault and Battery for allegedly physically abusing his wife. Our client is a veteran and had no prior history. After over two years of court dates, negotiations and discovery, the State dismissed the case due to the lack of evidence in the case, 2022.
  • Our client was initially charged with aggravated assault for shooting her husband and was rearrested and charged with murder upon her husband dying. The State's offer was 20 years to serve in prison. After several hearings and exchanging discovery, she was sentenced to seven years to serve three with credit for the time she already served, 2020.
  • Client (Father) was charged with Stalking and Violating a Temporary Protective Order (TPO). Our client had a bitter break up with the mother and agreed to a TPO to prevent future issues. The mother contacted the police relentlessly stating that our client was stalking her. We eventually got the case dismissed after proving to the prosecutor that the mother was being spiteful and that our client was not stalking the mother, 2019.
Representative Clients:
  • Client (Father) seeking to divorce his wife who had moved out of state with the parties’ young son and refused to tell our client where she lived to avoid service. Eventually she advised where she was living but would only allow our client to visit the minor child in her presence and our client went months without seeing his son. We filed for an expedited hearing and Father was granted temporary physical custody of the child and mother began making false accusations of cruel treatment by the father. Following a final hearing, we were able to show the court the mother’s allegations were false and our client was granted primary physical custody of his son, 2022.
  • Client (Husband) hired our firm following mediation in divorce of over 18 years with no minor children. Wife was seeking to maintain all her assets (Husband was self-employed but had paid all marital bills/expenses while Wife grew her 401k and other financial investments) and wanted Husband to pay off all her credit cards, again (Husband paid off credit cards shortly before the filing of the divorce and Wife ran them back up during the divorce). Following a final hearing, Husband was awarded 50% of all 401k/investments, Wife had to pay 100% of her credit cards and Husband’s attorney fees, 2018.
