  • The National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys is an organization devoted to recognizing the top Personal Injury attorneys in the nation. With over a million attorneys in the United States, choosing the best lawyer is difficult. However, through a stringent selection process, the NAOPIA awards the best Personal Injury attorneys in each state with our most prestigious honor of being named "TOP 10". The very few attorneys (less than 1%) that are good enough to make our list have demonstrated an extraordinary amount of knowledge, skill, experience, expertise and success in their practice of Personal Injury. The attorneys that make our list have to first be nominated by a licensed practicing attorney or one of our in-house research staff members. Second, our research staff verifies that they meet the minimum requirements of membership. Then they have to be one of 50 attorneys chosen to advance to the final selection stage by our processing committee, and then our Board of Governors officially selects the Top 10 in each state. We know it is a tough process but we wouldn't have it any other way., Nationally Ranked Top 10 Attorney Award, National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys, 2014
  • The American Institute’s Personal Injury Division compiles an exclusive list of the “10 Best” Attorneys for each State. Some States depending on size and population density may be broken up into City or Region to be more applicable to potential new clients who utilize this site when looking for an Attorney. The “10 Best” is a prestigious honor for the Attorney as each Attorney must: Be formally nominated by the Institute, client, and/or fellow Attorney; Have attained the highest degree of professional achievement in his or her field of law; and Having done so with an impeccable Client Satisfaction rating., 10 Best Client Satisfaction Award, American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys, 2014
  • Membership among America’s Top 100 Personal Injury Attorneys® is meant to identify and highlight the accomplishments of the nation’s most esteemed and skilled litigators in high-value personal injury, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, product liability, and medical malpractice matters. To be considered for selection, an attorney must focus more than 50% of their active legal practice on personal injury, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, product liability, and/or medical malpractice matters. These minimum qualifications are required for initial consideration as a “personal injury attorney” for this award. Thereafter, only the top 100 qualifying “personal injury attorneys” in each state* will receive this honor and be selected for membership among America’s Top 100 Personal Injury Attorneys®. While selection for any award, honor, or exclusive membership organization is always subjective in nature, we have developed a comprehensive multi-phase selection process involving propriety algorithms and Advanced Data Analytics in an effort to help ensure that only the most skilled and exceptional attorneys in the community are selected for membership. Candidates for membership are initially identified through third-party research or peer nominations by other elite attorneys in the community. Once a candidate is identified, they are screened first to determine that they meet the minimum requirements as a “personal injury attorney” through third-party research and analysis. Thereafter, all data regarding qualifying candidates is evaluated using our proprietary algorithms applying multi-criteria decision making methods to create a Pareto efficiency frontier. Using Advanced Data Analytics, these algorithms assess a broad array of criteria and data for each candidate, including (but not limited to) the attorney’s lifetime legal achievements, professional experience, significant personal injury settlements and/or verdicts, peer reputation, client satisfaction, other notable honors, media notoriety, and community impact, among many other proprietary factors. The Pareto efficiency frontier created by the analysis of these criteria establishes a measure for each attorney that indicates the relative effectiveness of the attorney in comparison to other attorneys in their community. Through Advanced Data Analytics, the most efficient and effective personal injury attorneys among the community are then identified for selection among America’s Top 100 Personal Injury Attorneys®. Every attorney selected for membership among America’s Top 100 Personal Injury Attorneys® must pass through this multi-phase screening process and be found among the Top 100 Personal Injury Attorneys in their community based on our screening criteria. Attorneys cannot buy or “peer nominate” their way into membership. If an attorney does not meet the standards established by our criteria to be selected among the Top 100 in their community, then there is no amount of money (or peer nominations) that will change that. The integrity of our multi-phase selection process is paramount in achieving our objectives and ensuring that all attorneys selected for this great honor reflect the highest ideals and ethical standards of the legal profession., America's Top 100 Personal Injury Attorneys, 2019

  • $400,000.00 Verdict for Customer Injured in Slip and Fall in Major Grocery Chain The Plaintiff had just finished working the night shift as a short haul truck driver and went to the a grocery store to pick up some groceries. As he was walking through the dairy aisle, the Plaintiff slipped and fell on yogurt that was on the floor. Due to his fall, the Plaintiff suffered extensive injuries to his right shoulder. Ultimately he would have to undergo two surgeries which helped his injuries, but ultimately left him with a permanent impairment. In addition to his medical treatment, Mr. Chambers also missed nearly two years of work. Mr. Henningsen obtained the surveillance video from the store showing the time of the fall. The video revealed that there was an employee of the store in the area who had failed to clean up the yogurt. Despite this evidence, store was unwilling to take responsibility for the Plaintiff’s injuries and offered him only $15,000.00 at a mediation. This amount was immediately turned down, and the case was presented before a jury. After hearing all of the evidence in this matter, the jury returned a verdict for $400,000.00. This amount is thought to be a record in the State of Georgia for this type of case with this type of injuries, Top Georgia Verdict (Fall Category), Fulton County Daily Report - ALM Media, 2010

  • $1,000,000.00 Settlement for Wrongful Death Caused by Code Violations in Apartment  Atlanta Personal Injury Attorney Todd Henningsen settled a case for one million dollars on the behalf of a wife who lost her husband in an apartment fire. The fire took place in a basement apartment at approximately 3:00 p.m. and the decedent had been last seen sleeping on the bed in the basement apartment. The fire set off the smoke alarms and the decedent's wife and the homeowner tried to save him, but the smoke was too thick to see. The firefighters were also unable to determine the decedent, and the entire apartment caught on fire. The decedent was found in the bathroom and it was determined that he died of carbon monoxide poisoning. Through investigation, it was discovered that the "sleeping area" did not have a primary means of egress so that rescue personnel could access the room in event of emergency. Attorney Henningsen also found that there was a furnace closet in the basement apartment, which was a code violation that allowed the fire to spread more rapidly. After extensive negotiation, Attorney Henningsen and the firm's legal team were able to secure a one million dollar settlement to compensate the decedent's wife., 2013
