    Attorney Profile

Traci A. Weiss is a family law attorney and partner with the Warner Bates law firm in Atlanta, Georgia. Nationally recognized as a preeminent lawyer, Ms. Weiss has more than 20 years of total legal experience, and she provides much-needed counsel and support to clients throughout the greater Atlanta Metro and surrounding areas who are going through a divorce or have some other serious/complex family law issue they need to address.

For over 15 years, Ms. Weiss has focused her practice solely on family law and divorce matters, and she has achieved considerable success advocating on behalf of her clients both inside and outside the courtroom. A Guardian ad Litem (including being a listed GAL with Cobb County and the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation), she frequently handles highly contentious child custody matters and other child-related issues, and she has earned a reputation as a tireless advocate for the rights and best interests of children.

Well-versed in mediation and other alternative dispute resolution techniques, Ms. Weiss strives to help her clients resolve their differences and reach agreements that will serve their families for years to come. She has also become a proud member of the Amicable Divorce Network.  However, she will not hesitate to take her clients' matters to court when necessary, and she works hard to help ensure her clients achieve the favorable outcomes they expect and deserve as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible.

From her exceptional legal abilities and dedication to those she serves, Ms. Weiss has repeatedly earned an AV Preeminent Judicial/peer review rating* from Martindale-Hubbell, as well as the organization's Sliver Client Champion awards. She has also received Martindale-Hubbell's Client Distinction Award as well as recognition as a Top Rated Lawyer in Family Law, a Legal Leaders "Georgia Top Rated Lawyer" and a "Women Leaders in the Law" designation.  Traci was also honored to be voted one of the top 3 lawyers in the "Best of Jewish Atlanta: 2020 Reader's Choice Awards" by the Atlanta Jewish Times magazine.  She is excited to have now been voted the top lawyer in their "Best of Jewish Atlanta: 2021 Reader's Choice Awards."  In addition, in 2020, Traci was accepted as a member into the Amicable Divorce Network, where she is about to become one of their membership chairs.

She also received the 2017 Women Leader in Law award from The American Lawyer Magazine along with consistent designation as a top attorney and legal leader from the American Society of Legal Advocates, Attorney at Law Magazine and other sources. She also holds Superb, 10 out of 10 client ratings on Avvo, a Top 1% rating from the American Registry and a Distinguished Lawyer Designation from the Expert Network.

Ms. Weiss graduated from Binghamton University in 1997 and obtained her Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law in 2000. She is admitted to practice before all Georgia state courts as well as the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia and the Georgia Court of Appeals.

Active in her legal community, she has been the President of the Cobb County Bar Association's Family Law Section (2020-2021), where she previously served as the Vice President (2019-2020), Secretary (2018-2019), and Member-At-Large (2017-2018). She is also the new Vice President (2021-2022) of the Women of the Bar Section of the Cobb County Bar Association.  Traci is also a Barrister with the Charles Longstreet Weltner Family Law Inn of Court, and she has served as Treasurer of the State Bar of Georgia's Young Lawyers Division's Family Law Committee as well as Sponsorship Chair of the organization's Supreme Cork initiative. In addition, she is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association, and the State Bar of Georgia including as a member of the organization's Legislative Committee and the Diversity/Inclusion Committee.  Traci is also a member of the Gwinnett County Bar Association, the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers Gwinnett County Chapter, the Guardian ad Litem section of the Cobb County Bar Association, and the family law section of the DeKalb County Bar Association.

In addition to her devotion to the legal profession, Traci is also dedicated to giving back to the community, and has served as her firm's team captain for the Georgia Legal Food Frenzy each year since 2018, helping to raise money for the Atlanta Community Food Bank. She also periodically serves as a Guardian ad Litem on a pro bono basis through the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, and volunteers her time to assist unrepresented litigants in family law matters before various Cobb County Superior Court judges.  She has also served multiple times as a volunteer judge/evaluator for moot court and mock trial competitions, including in the 2021 Georgia High School Mock Trial Competition.
