Traci A. Weiss is a family law attorney and owner of Weiss Family Law located in Atlanta, Georgia. She compassionately helps clients with matters involving divorce, annulment, child custody, child support, alimony, property division, paternity, adoption, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, enforcement of court orders and modification actions.
Ms. Weiss also uses alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation and arbitration to resolve family law issues in a less contentious manner, and also serves as a Guardian ad Litem (appointed by Judges or agreement of parties) to help determine the best interests of minor children in custody matters. With more than 20 years in the field of family law, she has gained a reputation for the tenacious but resolution-minded legal services she provides.
Compassionate and understanding, Ms. Weiss has a genuine concern for her clients’ well-being. She is aware of the sensitive nature of family law cases and handles all the cases empathetically. She ensures her clients feel empowered as they navigate through this difficult time in their lives and fights aggressively for their rights both inside and outside the courtroom.
With a bachelor’s degree in political science and history, Ms. Weiss graduated from Binghamton University. She studied law at the Emory University School of Law and earned her Juris Doctor in 2000. While in law school, she was a member of the Moot Court Society, the Emory Law Honor Court, the Emory Law Honor Court of Appeals and the Emory Order of Advocates.
Ms. Weiss has active memberships in the Charles Longstreet Weltner Family Law American Inn of Court (elevated from Barrister to Master in 2022), the State Bar of Georgia, the Atlanta Bar Association, the Cobb County Bar Association, the Gwinnett County Bar Association and the DeKalb County Bar Association. She is also a member of the family law sections of the mentioned bar associations, and has served as the President of the CCBA Family Law Section, and of the CCBA Women of the Bar Section. Additionally, she is a member of the Amicable Divorce Network and is a Certified Amicable Divorce Professional (CADP) with special CADP training in LGBTQIA+ matters.
A firm believer in helping those who need it the most, Ms. Weiss has volunteered significant time at the Cobb County Superior Court and as Guardian ad Litem through the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation. She has also served multiple times as a volunteer judge for the Georgia High School Mock Trials competitions. - On February 5, 2021, I, as President of the Cobb County Bar Association Family Law Section President, conducted a 7 hour CLE (through Zoom due to the pandemic) together with the Guardian ad Litem Section. The program included 10 presentations, including 2 Judges' panels. We were so happy to receive participation of all 10 Cobb County Superior Court Judges, and I, along with an associate of my firm, served as the Moderator of the first Judges' panel entitled: "The Kids Are Alright ... But the Rest of the Case Isn't: A Judicial View of Common Non-Custody Domestic Issues with the Cobb Superior Court Bench."
