Bettis C. Rainsford, Jr.

Bettis C. Rainsford Jr. focuses his practice exclusively on personal injury and wrongful death litigation. From the firm's offices in Augusta, Georgia, he provides representation to people throughout Georgia and South Carolina.

Mr. Rainsford attended the University of South Carolina as an undergraduate and law student. After finishing law school, Mr. Rainsford clerked for a federal judge in the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina. Thereafter, he joined a regional law firm in Columbia, South Carolina that defended manufacturers and liability insurance companies and their policyholders in catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death litigation. This experience proved to be invaluable when he changed his career focus in January 2019 and began representing plaintiffs who had been harmed as the result of the negligence of other persons or entities.

The types of cases that Mr. Rainsford has handled include wrongful death, medical malpractice, premises liability, truck and other motor vehicle crashes, and defective products. He has been able to obtain excellent results for clients, through both jury trials and favorable settlements. Mr. Rainsford is licensed to practice in both Georgia and South Carolina. His federal admissions include the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia, the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina and the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Rainsford enjoys a practice split roughly evenly between South Carolina and Georgia.
