Hon. Neal W. Dickert is a registered mediator in Georgia and South Carolina at Dickert Mediation, located in Augusta,, Georgia. With more than 50 years of legal experience, he mediates and arbitrates civil and domestic cases for clients in Georgia and South Carolina. 

Previously a trial lawyer and mediator taking on cases in the federal and state courts of South Carolina and Georgia, Mr. Dickert now exclusively practices mediation and arbitration. He has immense experience in mediating cases in most legal areas, including workers’ compensation, premises liability, personal injury, employment disputes, construction litigation, domestic disputes, contractual disputes, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and others. 

Mr. Dickert has a reputation for his exceptional mediation and arbitration skills. He takes on every case with empathy and strives hard to achieve his clients’ needs. Mr. Dickert provides effective and sound counsel to his clients for civil, commercial and general litigation, mediation, arbitration and appeals. 

Mr. Dickert has a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the Wofford College and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of South Carolina. He obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of South Carolina and was a staff member on the South Carolina Law Review and a member of the Wig and Robe Honorary Scholastic Society. 

Mr. Dickert served in the U.S. Army and is a U.S. Army and Vietnam veteran and was presented with the Bronze Star and Vietnam Service Medal. Mr. Dickert is admitted to practice law in the states of Georgia and South Carolina and is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association and the Georgia Bar Association. 

Prior to starting his own law firm, Mr. Dickert was a trial judge for the Georgia Superior Courts, where he adjudicated criminal, domestic and civil cases. He was also the chair of the Institute of Continuing Judicial Education, which oversees legal education planning for the judiciary of Georgia. 

For his outstanding work in the legal arena, Mr. Dickert has been recognized by the Best Lawyers in America consistently since 2012. In addition, he is the recipient of the Justice Robert Benham Award from the State Bar of Georgia for his exceptional community service, and he has a “Superb” rating on Avvo. 

Mr. Dickert has written extensively about mediation, evidence and ethics and has authored numerous articles in prominent publications and periodicals. He has also authored a popular book called Georgia Handbook on Foundations and Objections. Mr. Dickert is an ardent speaker and has lectured at many seminars and continuing legal education platforms.
