Upon completing her bachelor’s degree at the Augusta University, Ms. Jeffords received her Juris Doctor from Mercer University School of Law. She acquired valuable experience during her tenure as a federal judicial law clerk for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia and as a public defender for the Augusta Judicial Circuit.

Licensed to practice law in the states of Georgia and South Carolina, Ms. Jeffords has argued before the Supreme Court of Georgia. She holds memberships in organizations such as the State Bar of Georgia, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Augusta Bar Association, the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, and the Augusta Chapter of The Links, Inc., the Platinum Minds and Kiwanis International.

A fierce and caring advocate, Ms. Jeffords was named in The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100 in 2012 and the Top 100 National Black Lawyers in 2015. Georgia’s Judicial Council and Administrative Office of the Courts presented her with the State Hero Award in 2013 for her significant contribution to the accountability courts. Along with her husband, William R. Jeffords III, she operates Dream Builders of America’s Youth Inc., a nonprofit created by a diverse group of professionals to give young people the tools to turn dreams into reality.
