John D. Flowers is an associate attorney at Peak Wooten McDaniel & Colwell LLP in Columbus, Georgia, where he represents individuals harmed by the negligence of others. His practice spans automobile and trucking collisions, motorcycle wrecks, wrongful death, medical negligence, brain and spinal cord injuries, nursing home neglect and abuse, class-action litigation, workplace and railroad injuries, and premises liability. Licensed in both Georgia and Alabama, he brings a litigator's instinct and a deep well of courtroom preparation to every case he handles.
A Columbus native, Mr. Flowers built the foundation of his legal career through rigorous academic and competitive achievement. He earned a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Georgia in 2020 before continuing his studies at Mercer University School of Law, graduating cum laude in 2023.
At law school, Mr. Flowers distinguished himself as the most decorated student-advocate in the law school's history, claiming victory at the 2023 National Moot Court Competition in New York City, where he was honored as Best Oralist and the 2022 Allstar National Mock Trial Competition in St. Petersburg, Florida, where his team defeated both Harvard and UCLA en route to his recognition as “Best Advocate.”
Beyond the competition circuit, Mr. Flowers’ classmates elected him president of the Mercer Advocacy Council, and he served as articles editor of the Mercer Law Review, a rare dual commitment to trial advocacy and scholarly writing. His integrity and academic excellence were further recognized through the Walker P. Johnson Jr. Memorial Award for ethics and professionalism, and the Faculty Award for Most Outstanding Senior.
Returning home to Columbus after law school, Mr. Flowers joined Peak Wooten McDaniel & Colwell LLP, where he has already helped clients recover more than $50 million in settlements and verdicts within his first six months of practice. He holds memberships in the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, the Columbus Trial Lawyers Association, the Columbus Bar Association and the Historic Columbus Foundation.
