Brian A. Hansford

Attorney Brian A. Hansford is a founding partner with the law firm of Miles Hansford & Tallant, LLC, in Cumming, Georgia. A 1995 graduate of North Georgia College & State University with a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice, Mr. Hansford served with the U.S. Army's XVIII Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, as a paratrooper and received an honorable discharge for his service. He then attended Atlanta's John Marshall Law School, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 1999. The State Bar of Georgia admitted him to practice that same year, and he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.

Upon receiving his license to practice, Mr. Hansford worked as Forsyth County's assistant solicitor general, where he gained invaluable insight into the state's criminal justice system, and he also served as public defender in Lumpkin County's probate and magistrate courts. These experiences helped hone his trial skills, enabling him to devise the most effective defense strategies possible for his clients.

Highly active in his legal community, Mr. Hansford is a member of both the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers as well as the Council of Municipal Court Judges. He also served as president of the Forsyth County Bar Association from 2003 to 2004, and he is heavily involved with the U.S. Department of Justice Heroin Working Group and the North Fulton Rotary Opioid Awareness Group.
