This year has been similar to past years in his ability to help his clients. Jon resolved a number of cases for amounts above initially disclosed policy limits. The first case pertains to an injured client who suffered a talus fracture. The liability limits initially disclosed were $250,000 and the initial offer was $166,000. We filed suit to pursue bad faith damages because the initial offer was woefully inadequate. During the depositions of the party Defendants a PLUP policy was uncovered. The case settled for $675,000. Jon settled a commercial vehicle case where the initial amount of policy limits disclosed was only $2,000,000 and was not offered initially. Accordingly, Jon filed suit to pursue the full amount of the policy and, perhaps, bad faith damages for failing to meet the initial demand. During the course of discovery, another $1,000,000 policy was disclosed. The case settled for the full policy limits of $3,000,000. Jon recently settled a commercial vehicle case after 3 1/2 years of litigation. The collision was caused by an intoxicated driver operating a loaded dump truck. The collision involved 5 cars causing injury to 5 or 6 people. The main issue in the case were the competing claims. Ultimately, Jon resolved the claim for $2,300,000 as a result of his efforts in litigation. Awards such as this enable people to pay off medical bills, restore other losses and start the road to recovery. Perhaps even more importantly, it gives them peace of mind.

Prior to representing victims, Mr. Brockman spent the early part of his career defending individuals and entities such as insurance and trucking companies against personal injury claims. This gives him unique insight into the tactics these defendants use and enables him to build a strong case for his clients today.

He is admitted to practice before the Georgia Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia and state courts.

In 1986, Mr. Brockman received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Louisville. He then attended the Mercer University School of Law, earning a Juris Doctor in 1990.
