Rafe Banks, III

Attorney Rafe Banks, III, is a partner with Banks Stubbs & McFarland, L.L.P., law firm in Cumming, Georgia. Nationally ranked as among the top trial lawyers in Georgia as well as the country, Mr. Banks has more than 44 years of total legal experience, and he provides unmatched advocacy and support to clients throughout Forsyth County and the northern Atlanta as well as all across North Georgia who stand accused or are under investigation for any type of felony or misdemeanor criminal offense.

Over the course of his legal career, Mr. Banks has achieved considerable success defending the rights and liberties of his clients facing charges for DUI, drug crimes, property crimes, violent crimes, white collar crimes and more. He also has extensive experience with civil litigation, including medical malpractice and personal injury claims, and he has handled several matters involving power line and eminent domain litigation.

A 1972 graduate of Emory University, Mr. Banks returned to his alma mater and obtained his Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law in 1975. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.

An active leader in his legal community, Mr. Banks serves as president of the Criminal Defense Bar of Forsyth County, and he is the former president of the Forsyth County Bar Association and the Blue Ridge Bar Association. He has also served on the Georgia State Bar disciplinary panel, and he is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Defense of Drinking Drivers Group and the Lawyers Club of Atlanta.
