R. Leslie Waycaster Jr. is the founder and principal attorney at The Waycaster Firm in Dalton. For more than four decades, he has handled a variety of personal injury cases, as well as representing clients in business disputes across Northwest Georgia. Leslie received his BA degree from Georgia State University in 1977. He completed his legal education at the University of Georgia in 1980. He is authorized to practice in all trial and appellate courts in Georgia, as well as the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th and 11th Circuits and the United States Supreme Court. Leslie has tried in excess of 100 jury trials, across 25 counties in Georgia, as well as in Federal Courts in Atlanta, Rome and Gainesville, Georgia. He has experience handling a wide range of cases, including vehicle collisions, slip and falls, negligent security, breach of contract, fraud and shareholder disputes. He has also been a highly regarded mediator since 1995 and rated as among the top 5% of mediators in Georgia. Leslie is rated AV Preeminent* through Martindale-Hubbell, a rating presented to a select group of attorneys displaying the highest degree of legal ability and ethical standards. For his outstanding client services, he is rated "Excellent" through Avvo as well. With a passion for giving back to the community, Leslie has served in various legal organizations including the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Georgia, having served as a regional vice president of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and as a past President of the Conasauga Circuit Bar Association.
