Stephen D. Apolinsky

Stephen D. Apolinsky, founder of Apolinsky & Associates, LLC, focuses his practice on serious injury and wrongful death personal injury cases.  The firm practices throughout the states of Georgia and Alabama. His drive to practice personal injury law stems from a straightforward belief that every individual and their families are entitled to quality legal representation, irrespective of their background or the type of case. 

Hailing from a family with a legal background, Mr. Apolinsky is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in political science at the University of Michigan in 1983 and he obtained his doctorate in jurisprudence from Emory University School in 1987. 

Over his legal career spanning 35-plus years, Mr. Apolinsky has tried more than 80 cases to verdict, negotiated over 300 cases and recovered several eight-figure settlements totaling more than $85 million in compensation on behalf of his plaintiff clients, fighting against large corporations and insurance companies. Some of his notable results include a $17 million dollar settlement for the wrongful death of a child, a $10 million dollar settlement for a client who faced catastrophic burns and a $7.3 million dollar verdict for a business owner. 

Mr. Apolinsky has advocated for the rights of individuals who faced injuries or death as a result of:

• Car and truck accidents
• Construction defects that lead to serious injuries or wrongful death
• Apartment and office negligent security matters
• Assault and battery incidents
• Boating and aviation accidents
• Sexual assault
• Harmful premises, including hotels, apartments, swimming pools and parking lots
• Animal attacks

A recipient of several awards and honors, Mr. Apolinsky is listed in the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by The National Trial Lawyers and named a Legal Elite by Georgia Trend Magazine. Reflecting his professional and ethical standards, he was rated AV Preeminent* through Martindale-Hubbell and “Superb” on Avvo. Moreover, he was included in the Top Lawyers list of the American Association for Justice and Newsweek magazine.

One to spread knowledge and awareness in his community, Mr. Apolinsky established a free app called "My Personal Injury Lawyer" for smartphone users during times of emergency. He also actively contributed to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution – Ask the Experts and is a frequent lecturer at seminars and conferences. 

Mr. Apolinsky is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association, Leadership DeKalb, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America and the State Bar of Georgia. He is a champion member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and was on the board of directors for the DeKalb County Bar Association and Leadership DeKalb.  He is also a founding member of Atlanta United FC.
