Jayla Cooley

Jayla Cooley is the founder and principal attorney of The Cooley Law Firm, based in Douglasville, Georgia, where she offers dedicated and client-focused legal representation to individuals facing challenging legal matters. Her practice mainly covers criminal defense and personal injury, advocating for clients with determination while working to protect their rights, freedom and financial well-being.

Ms. Cooley represents clients in a wide range of criminal law matters, including DUI charges, traffic violations, drug offenses, misdemeanors and felonies. She understands the serious consequences that criminal allegations can have on a person’s life and works hard to make sure each client receives a solid and strategic defense.

Besides criminal defense, Ms. Cooley handles personal injury cases involving car, truck and motorcycle accidents, premises liability and wrongful death claims. She assists injured individuals and their families in seeking compensation for losses caused by negligence, guiding them through the legal process while advocating for fair results.

Ms. Cooley earned her Juris Doctor from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School in Atlanta, Georgia. During law school, she was actively involved in several organizations that strengthened her advocacy and leadership skills, serving as vice president of the Sports & Entertainment Law Association and as a member of the Moot Court Trial Advocacy Team. Prior to attending law school, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in international studies from Texas State University.

Admitted to practice law in Georgia in 2020, Ms. Cooley maintains active involvement in several professional organizations, including the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the American Association for Justice, the DeKalb County Bar Association and the Stonewall Bar Association.
