Joshua Elbaz

Born and raised in Suwanee, Georgia, Attorney Joshua Elbaz proudly calls Gwinnett County his home. He completed both high school and college in the area, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC). He went on to attend Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School, where he graduated with distinct honors and awards—an achievement reflecting his early dedication to academic excellence and legal scholarship.

From the outset of his legal career, Joshua immersed himself in trial work, serving alongside one of metro Atlanta’s most experienced criminal defense attorneys while still in law school. During that time, he participated in over ten felony jury trials, developing a hands-on understanding of courtroom procedures and cultivating a passion for high-stakes advocacy. Upon completing his law studies, he joined the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office as an Assistant District Attorney (ADA). In this role, he prosecuted major felony cases, gaining invaluable insight into how the State constructs and pursues criminal charges. This background equips Joshua with the strategic perspective necessary to anticipate prosecutorial tactics and mount a vigorous defense on behalf of his clients.

Today, Joshua channels his prosecutorial experience into a dynamic criminal defense practice that centers on protecting the rights and freedoms of the accused. He takes pride in never shying away from a jury trial, believing that the best way to fight for justice is through fearless advocacy in front of a judge and jury. Whether defending a first-time misdemeanor or a high-profile felony, Joshua combines tenacity, meticulous preparation, and a profound respect for due process to stand as a formidable advocate. Actively engaged in the legal community, he is a member of the Gwinnett County Bar Association, the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (GACDL), and The National Trial Lawyers Association, which honored him as a Top 40 Under 40 Trial Lawyer. In 2023, he was further recognized by the Gwinnett Young Professionals as a 35 Under 35 winner, highlighting his dedication to excellence and leadership within the Gwinnett community.

Outside the courtroom and classroom, Joshua remains dedicated to personal growth and community engagement. He enjoys staying active through sports and fitness, and he seizes opportunities to travel and broaden his perspective on different cultures. His commitment to Gwinnett County runs deep—both as a true “Gwinnettian” who grew up in the area and as a passionate advocate who seeks to deliver justice for those in need of a strong defense.
