Torin Togut

Torin Togut is an attorney at Torin Togut Attorney at Law in Lawrenceville, Georgia. He provides legal advice and representation to individuals and families throughout the state. He focuses his practice on a wide range of matters, including education law, special education law, mental health law, health law, criminal defense, divorce and separation, civil rights and juvenile law.

With over 48 years of experience, Mr. Togut is known for advocating for vulnerable populations and for his dedication to protecting individual rights. He represents clients in sensitive matters involving special education, disability and civil rights and liberties, school disciplinary proceedings, and he approaches each case with a focus on practical solutions and long-term results.

Mr. Togut graduated with a bachelor’s degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University in 1973. Later, he went on to attend the University of La Verne College of Law and Public Service, where he developed his legal skills and gained his Juris Doctor in 1976. After successfully clearing the bar, he became licensed to practice in Georgia in 1977.

Admitted to practice in multiple jurisdictions, Mr. Togut is authorized to appear before the U.S. District Court for the District of Vermont, the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Georgia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.  He is currently a member of the State Bar of Georgia

As an active participant in the legal community, Mr. Togut served as president of ARC of Georgia. He currently serves on the Legal Committee of the ARC of the U.S. His professional contributions have been recognized through several honors, including Phillip Heiner Award from the Atlanta Legal Aid Volunteer Foundation, the ARC of Georgia’s Professional of the Year Award in 1991 and the Lifetime Volunteer Lawyer Award from the ACLU of Georgia in 2003.
