Before pursuing his legal career, Mr. East received his bachelor's degree in international studies from Emory University. He then worked full time in the film industry, focusing on special effects. Deciding on a career change, he enrolled at Mercer University School of Law, where he was a member of the Phi Delta Phi Honors Society and the Law Review. He received his license to practice law in Georgia in 2019, upon graduation with a Juris Doctor.

Beginning his law practice as a clerk at his current firm, Mr. East continued working part-time with the firm throughout his time at law school. Having gained valuable practical experience throughout his clerkship by drafting pleadings, motions and briefs, he continues to utilize these skills in his practice today.
