Barbara B. King

Barbara B. King is a senior associate attorney at King, Yaklin & Wilkins, LLP, in Marietta, Georgia. A native of Marietta, her roots in the community run deep, where she focuses her practice on family law and criminal law.

Ms. King graduated from Marietta High School in 1988 and went on to earn her degree from Georgia Southern University in 1993. Her career began in the field of probation management, where she served as assistant chief probation officer at Georgia Probation Management in Cherokee County. This role provided her with a robust foundation in legal and regulatory matters, which she built upon when she decided to pursue her long-held ambition of practicing law. Balancing her full-time job, she attended John Marshall Law School’s evening program and earned her law degree in 1999.

Following law school, Ms. King honed her legal skills by clerking for the Honorable A. Harris Adams, a position she held for several years. Reentering the legal profession after a break in 2016, she brought her acute understanding of family dynamics to King, Yaklin & Wilkins, LLP, where she addresses complex family law issues including divorce, parenting and support disputes, and legitimation. Her comprehensive approach not only demonstrates her legal acumen but also her commitment to providing compassionate representation to her clients.

Outside of her professional life, Ms. King is an enthusiastic participant in community activities. She is actively involved in both political and charitable organizations, contributing her time and skills to various causes. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Cobb County Bar Association, The Marietta Lawyers Club and the Southern Trial Lawyers Association. She also contributes to the Southern Magnolia Garden Club and serves on the Special Events/Fundraising Committee at the Garden Center.
