Julie K. Bracker

As a founding partner of the Bracker & Marcus LLC law firm just outside Atlanta, Georgia, attorney Julie K. Bracker devotes her practice to help protect the rights and interests of clients throughout the country who are brave enough to stand up and expose the fraud, corruption and wrongdoing they have witnessed.

Focusing solely on False Claims Act issues, Ms. Bracker brings nearly 20 years of legal experience to the table, and she has successfully handled dozens of cases in both state and federal courts across her region, returning hundreds of millions of dollars to the taxpayers and netting millions in total recoveries for her plaintiff relator clients. Among her most notable successes, she helped secure a landmark settlement of more than $84 million involving kickbacks, Medicare, and Medicaid fraud at a hospital in Detroit, Michigan, recovered more than $13 million for Georgia Medicaid, and secured a settlement of nearly $650 million in the Taylor, Bean & Whitaker mortgage fraud case.

A staunch advocate for justice in all cases and former president of the Georgia Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association, Ms. Bracker has used her position and affiliation with the organization to help increase awareness of the retaliation provisions contained in the False Claims Act. She routinely conducts lectures and seminars across the nation to this end.

A 1993 magna cum laude graduate of Vanderbilt University, Ms. Bracker returned to her alma mater and attended Vanderbilt University Law School on a scholarship after several years in education, where she served as curriculum coordinator for mathematics in Atlanta's Fulton County School System. She obtained her Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2002, graduating Order of the Coif. While in law school, she served as executive student writing editor of the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law and was a member of the Moot Court board.

Along with all of Georgia's state courts, Ms. Bracker is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern and Middle Districts of Georgia, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 9th and 11th Circuits.

Recognized for her impeccable professionalism and service, Ms. Bracker holds an AV Preeminent peer review rating* from Martindale-Hubbell, and she received the Women in Law award from Lawyer Monthly in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
