William C. Gentry, the founding member of his own firm, Gentry Law Firm LLC, located in Marietta, Georgia, has been practicing law for over 35 years. He represents clients in the areas of family law, workers' compensation and personal injury. Mr. Gentry's cases have included alimony, contentious divorces, high asset divorces, protective orders, parents' rights, commercial truck accidents, car accidents, wrongful death and premises liability.
After graduating Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia in the Economics Honors Program in 1981, Mr. Gentry proceeded to earn his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1986. He served as president of the Student Bar Association in 1985.
Mr. Gentry is admitted to practice law before the state courts of Georgia, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. In order to stay updated in his practice, Mr. Gentry holds memberships in a number of professional organizations, including the State Bar of Georgia, of which he was elected to the board of Governors in 2012; the Atlanta Bar Association; and the Cobb County Bar Association, for which he served as President in 2001-2002; and he currently serves on the Executive Committee of the State Bar of Georgia.
Due to his level of legal skill and ethics, Mr. Gentry has earned multiple honors throughout his career. He holds a 10.0 "Superb" rating from his peers through Avvo and also holds an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell. He additionally has been honored with the President's Cup award from the State Bar of Georgia.
