Carl S. Cansino

Carl S. Cansino is the managing member and founder of The Cansino Law Firm, LLC, in Milledgeville, Georgia. He concentrates his practice on criminal defense in both state and federal courts. For more than two decades, he has built a reputation as a skilled trial lawyer, trusted adviser and strong advocate for clients facing serious charges.

Before opening his own practice in 2004, Mr. Cansino served as an assistant district attorney in the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit. That role gave him invaluable courtroom experience and insight into prosecution strategy, which he now uses to effectively defend the rights of the accused. His work spans a wide range of complex criminal matters, from high-profile cases attracting statewide attention to appeals that have resulted in important reversals of trial court decisions.

Mr. Cansino’s professional accomplishments have earned him recognition among the top lawyers in Georgia. He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the most prestigious trial lawyer associations in North America. His leadership extends beyond the courtroom – he currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers as regional vice president, sits on the State Bar of Georgia Board of Governors and chairs the Georgia Department of Law’s Advisory Committee on the Consumer Protection Division.

A graduate of Florida State University, Mr. Cansino earned his law degree from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. He is admitted to practice in all Georgia state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.
