Mishael Khadija Najm

Mishael Khadija Najm is an associate attorney with Thompson, O’Brien, Kappler & Nasuti, P.C., in Peachtree Corners, Georgia, where she advises and represents local governments, financial institutions, corporations, nonprofit organizations and individuals in complex business litigation. Drawing on experience as both plaintiffs and defense counsel, she brings a nuanced understanding of litigation strategy – knowing exactly how to mount a persuasive case and how to dismantle an opponent’s arguments at every turn.

An incisive thinker with a relentless work ethic, Ms. Najm excels at uncovering weaknesses in opposing positions and devising creative solutions where others have reached an impasse. She approaches every matter with a “leave no stone unturned” philosophy, conducting exhaustive investigations and prioritizing her clients’ objectives at each stage of litigation.

In just seven weeks on the job, Ms. Najm second-chaired a high-stakes business trial that culminated in a six-figure jury verdict. She earned her J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law, where she honed her advocacy skills as a member of the Moot Court team and was named “Best Oralist” in the 2018 Talmadge Moot Court Competition. Licensed in Georgia since 2019, she also holds a B.A. from McGill University.

Ms. Najm is actively involved in the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers and the South Asian Bar Association of Georgia. She has been recognized by the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia with consecutive Awards of Achievement for Service to the Profession (2020–2021 and 2021–2022) and graduated from its Leadership Academy in 2022. 

Before joining private practice, Ms. Najm served as an intern in the legal department of a Fortune 500 technology company, the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council and the Court of Appeals of Georgia. Her earlier work with international human rights organizations has endowed her with a global perspective and the ability to connect meaningfully with clients from all walks of life.
