Rachel L. Platt has earned a reputation as a dedicated and knowledgeable attorney, receiving numerous awards and commendations throughout her career. Ms. Platt is the founder of The Platt Law Firm in Roswell, Georgia, and she works hard to achieve favorable outcomes for her family law clients throughout the Atlanta metropolitan area, including practicing in Fulton, Cobb, Dekalb, Cherokee, Forsyth and Gwinnett Counties. Ms. Platt focuses primarily on divorce, child custody and adoption cases, and she is also a Guardian ad Litem and certified mediator.
As an undergraduate, Ms. Platt attended the University of Georgia and earned a Bachelor of Science in 2000. She then pursued her legal studies at the University of Colorado School of Law, where she was a member of the Women’s Law Caucus and worked with the Civil Legal Aid Clinic. Ms. Platt received her Juris Doctor in 2004 and was licensed to practice in the state of Georgia the same year.
Ms. Platt founded the Platt Law Firm in 2008 and has been practicing exclusively Family Law since that time. Georgia Trend Magazine named Ms. Platt one of Georgia’s Legal Elite in the realm of family law in 2009, 2012, 2016, 2018 and 2019. She additionally holds a 10.0 "Superb" rating from her peers through Avvo. Additionally, Ms. Platt has been named a Super Lawyer since 2014 and since 2018, she was named as one of the Top 100 Attorneys and one of the Top 50 Women Attorneys in the State of Georgia. Ms. Platt is an active member of the Atlanta Bar Association and the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers, having held leadership roles in both organizations. Additionally, Ms. Platt frequently lectures on family law topics. Ms. Platt is an active member of her community, participating in local events in Roswell and Alpharetta, Georgia.
