As an undergraduate, Ms. Platt attended the University of Georgia and earned a Bachelor of Science in 2000. She then pursued her legal studies at the University of Colorado School of Law, where she was a member of the Women’s Law Caucus and worked with the Civil Legal Aid Clinic. Ms. Platt received her Juris Doctor in 2004 and was licensed to practice in the state of Georgia the same year.
Prior to founding her firm in 2008, Ms. Platt was partner at Platt, Laun & Giles, LLC, in Atlanta. Before that, she handled special education matters while working as an associate attorney at Brock, Clay, Calhoun and Rogers, LLC. Georgia Trend Magazine named Ms. Platt one of Georgia’s Legal Elite in the realm of family law in 2009 and 2012. She additionally holds a 10.0 "Superb" rating from her peers through Avvo. She was the president of GAWL Foundation, Inc., an arm of the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers, between 2010 and 2011.
A trained guardian ad litem, Ms. Platt is a member of the family law sections of both the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia. She lectures frequently on a variety of topics, including adoption law, divorce litigation and family law ethics. A community leader, Ms. Platt served as president of Citizen Advocacy of Atlanta & DeKalb from 2009 to 2013.
