Thomas C. Rowsey, an attorney at Rowsey & Stelter, Attorneys at Law, divides his practice among family law, criminal defense, and personal injury and wrongful death litigation. From the firm's office in Roswell, Georgia, he represents clients throughout the greater Atlanta metropolitan area, including Fulton, Cobb and Forsyth counties. Mr. Rowsey has been admitted to practice in Georgia since 1991.
Mr. Rowsey's family law experience largely consists of his representation of people who are going through divorce and who are thus having to deal with the related issues of property division, spousal and child support, and child custody and visitation. He is a forceful courtroom advocate when litigation is necessary, but his background in mediation often allows him to help his clients reach an accord on these matters through that method of alternative dispute resolution. Mr. Rowsey's family law background has also included adoptions, grandparents' rights, protective orders for domestic violence victims, and the preparation and review of prenuptial agreements.
In his criminal defense practice, Mr. Rowsey provides advocacy on behalf of people who are facing misdemeanor or felony charges. The cases he has worked on have included driving under the influence, drug possession and distribution, sex crimes, and white-collar offenses. Mr. Rowsey's personal injury practice has encompassed medical malpractice, defective products, motor vehicle accidents and premises liability. His successful track record in all of these endeavors has earned him a great deal of recognition from his colleagues, including an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell.
Mr. Rowsey received a bachelor’s degree cum laude from the University of Georgia in 1988, and he was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society. He obtained his legal education at the University of Georgia School of Law and was awarded his law degree in 1991. His memberships include the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association.
