Before pursuing his legal studies at the University of Georgia School of Law, Mr. Smith graduated from Erskine College with a bachelor’s degree in history. In 1996, he graduated law school with a J.D. and received his license to practice law in Georgia. He worked in private offices until 2006, when he founded his current firm along with his partner to solely focus on estate planning. Throughout the years, he has helped numerous clients to plan their estates and living trusts.

As an active member of the legal community, Mr. Smith has previously served as the president of the Greater Savannah Coalition on Aging Inc., and the Georgia Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Furthermore, he is a member of the Leadership Council of the Alzheimer's Association Georgia Chapter, the National Care Planning Council, the Savannah Bar Association, the Savannah Estate Planning Council and WealthCounsel.
