As founder of Franklin Law, LLC, Rebecca Franklin Harris works with clients both locally in Savannah and across the country in cases involving consumer rights and product safety. Her practice also includes cases arising out of trucking accidents, medical malpractice, aviation disasters and premises liability incidents. She currently represents the State of Georgia, along with several other law firms, in litigation against opioid manufacturers and distributors arising out of the opioid epidemic.
During her career, she has worked to obtain substantial jury awards and sizable settlements on behalf of her clients in cases against major automotive manufacturers such as Ford, General Motors, Chrysler, Honda, and Nissan, as well as tire manufactures Michelin, Firestone, Continental, and Cooper Tire.
She has has obtained jury awards for deaths on television and film sets, including a jury verdict in excess of $11 million for the parents of a camera assistant who was fatally injured when struck by a train while working. She also represented the mother of stunt performer who was killed while working the set of the television show, The Walking Dead, in which the jury awarded $8.6 million against the show's production company and individuals involved in the production.
As an undergraduate, Mrs. Harris received her Bachelor of Arts in journalism magna cum laude from the University of Georgia in 2001. She then went on to pursue her legal education at the University of Georgia School of Law and was awarded her Juris Doctor cum laude in 2004. Mrs. Harris is admitted to practice before all Georgia state courts including the Supreme Court of Georgia. and Court of Appeals of Georgia. She is also admired to the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Georgia as well as the Eleventh Circuit.
Mrs. Harris was inducted into the Fulton County Daily Report’s Verdicts Hall of Fame after securing a $16.5 million jury award for an accident caused by a defective tire design by Michelin North America. She was awarded the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association's Courageous Pursuit of Justice Award for work on a wrongful death case involving the death of a man while in the care of a drug and alcohol facility. She has been named to both The National Trial Lawyers: Top 40 Under 40 and The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100.
