Thomas A. Withers

A well-seasoned attorney with more than four decades of experience, Thomas A. Withers is a highly accomplished attorney and a partner with Withers Law Firm, PC, located in Savannah, Georgia. He is an accomplished practitioner in all areas of criminal defense. He has obtained significant victories in civil litigation, including class actions, medical malpractice and wrongful death cases. Mr. Withers completed both his undergraduate studies in liberal arts and his Juris Doctor at the University of Georgia. Admitted to practice in the State Bar of Georgia, Mr. Withers has memberships in the Savannah Bar Association and the United States District Courts for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Georgia, as well as the United States Courts of Appeals for the 11th and 4th Circuits. His career includes significant achievements as an assistant U.S. attorney and chief of the Criminal Section for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia, where he led high-profile prosecutions such as the case against a major home health care provider for Medicare fraud.

In private practice, Mr. Withers has demonstrated judicious skill in negotiating the termination of criminal investigations prior to indictment and securing not guilty verdicts for his clients.
