W. Andrew Bowen

W. Andrew Bowen is the founding partner of a Savannah-based personal injury practice - Bowen Painter Injury Lawyers, and a lifelong resident of the area. Since 2001, he has concentrated his efforts on those harmed by negligence, handling contested trials and complex litigation involving medical malpractice, wrongful death, and truck accidents, motorcycle accidents, and car accidents.

Earning a Bachelor of Arts from Washington and Lee University, Mr. Bowen received his Juris Doctor from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in 1998. Grounded in local ties and years of courtroom service, he has built a reputation for tenacious representation in serious injury and wrongful death matters. He began his career defending clients in automotive collision and medical negligence cases and also served as a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy trustee, experiences that provided a broad view of litigation and client advocacy.

Admitted to practice in Georgia and South Carolina, Mr. Bowen appears in federal courts across both states. His federal admissions extend to the Court of Federal Claims in Washington, D.C., and he has earned privileges before the Court of Appeals of Georgia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. That multijurisdictional reach allows him to pursue remedies for clients at both the state and national levels.

Beyond litigation, Mr. Bowen contributes to the profession through leadership roles. He currently serves as vice-chairman of the Automobile Law Committee and sits on the Plaintiffs’ Policy Task Force within the American Bar Association’s Tort and Insurance Practice Section. His commitment to the local bar has included a term as president of the Savannah Trial Lawyers Association, and the Supreme Court of Georgia appointed him to the State Bar’s Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee.
