Pope also created the Langdale Legal Scholarship, which awards monetary scholarship money to a graduating senior from each of the public high schools in Lowndes County.  Pope also provides a free automobile, for one year, to the teacher of the year for each of the public school systems in Lowndes County. Pope has also served on the Board of the United Way, the Board of the YMCA, and the Board of the Lowndes Education Improvement Foundation
