Philip R. Potter

Focusing his practice on plaintiff’s personal injury and wrongful death litigation, Philip R. Potter is a partner at Westmoreland, Patterson, Moseley & Hinson, L.L.P. Born and raised in Warner Robins, Georgia, he works out of the firm’s office in that city as well as the one in Macon, and he represents clients throughout the central part of the state. Mr. Potter has been admitted to practice in Georgia since 2011, and he is additionally admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

Mr. Potter provides aggressive representation to clients who have incurred losses due to the negligence or recklessness of other people or parties. His caseload has included medical malpractice, truck crashes and other types of motor vehicle accidents, defective products, and premises liability. During his career, Mr. Potter has been able to obtain significant compensation for his clients through both jury awards and settlements that he has negotiated with defendants and their insurance providers, and this successful track record has led to his receipt of numerous honors from his colleagues, including an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell.

Mr. Potter attended Valdosta State University as an undergraduate, majoring in criminal justice and receiving a Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude in 2003. He then pursued advanced studies in educational leadership and policy at the University of Georgia, and while he was there, he worked for the university’s police department as an officer. After obtaining his Master of Education in 2006, Mr. Potter taught middle school students before enrolling at Mercer University School of Law and subsequently being awarded his Juris Doctor in 2011.
