    Attorney Profile

Attorney Wm. John Camp is the founder and owner of John Camp Law, LLC, in Warner Robins, Georgia. Nationally ranked as one of the preeminent attorneys in the country, Mr. Camp has more than 46 years of total legal experience, and he focuses his practice on family law with a particular emphasis on military divorces and federal civil service divorces.

Instead of representing individual clients with their divorces and other complex family law matters, Mr. Camp assists other attorneys in his region and beyond who have clients going through military divorces. As this is a highly specialized area of law, many attorneys do not fully understand all the nuances in order to provide the most effective counsel. Mr. Camp served for more than 22 years as a judge advocate with the U.S. Air Force, and he has become a recognized leader in military divorces.

Along with maintaining a successful legal practice, Mr. Camp routinely conducted lectures and continuing legal education seminars across his region on a variety of legal topics involving the division of federal retirement pensions and other benefits, health care options for former military spouses, international child custody and support issues, and other domestic relations matter particular to military and federal civil service divorces.

Honored for his outstanding professionalism and service as an attorney, Mr. Camp has earned an AV Preeminent peer review rating* from Martindale-Hubbell as well as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer designation from The National Trial Lawyers. He has also received the Distinguished Service Award from the State Bar of Georgia's board of governors and the Community Service Award from the U.S. Department of Defense as well as the Marshall-Tuttle Award for Legal Service to Military Families in Georgia.

Moreover, he has received "Superb" client ratings on Avvo along with the site's Clients' Choice Award, and he has received recognition for his selfless pro bono service over the past 18 years. In addition, he received numerous medals, honors and commendations for his military service with the U.S. Air Force.

After graduating with high honors from Auburn University in 1971, Mr. Camp attended the University of Georgia School of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 1974.

He received his license to practice from the State Bar of Georgia and The Florida Bar that same year, and he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, Veterans Claims and the 11th Circuit, and the Georgia, Florida and U.S. Supreme Courts.

In addition, he is a registered agent and accredited veterans' attorney with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and he is a registered general and family law mediator and arbitrator at the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution.
